“We are the music makers and we are the dreamers of dreams.” That was certainly obvious as the energetic cast of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory took the stage on March 30 under the direction of Karen Meyer, McKinley Elementary’s music teacher and recent Muscatine schools representative for the Local Bands for Music Education. The event raised $2,305 and was cosponsored by the Voice of Muscatine and Vintage Sound radio.
Meyer expressed tremendous appreciation for the efforts of Roberta Osmers along with the many local bands who volunteered their time to make the event possible. “I am thrilled and grateful to the people who initiated this benefit idea and appreciate those who put in their time and energy. The young people of Muscatine will help make the world a more creative, hopeful and beautiful place because of many generous people! Thank you all!”
