April 16, 1968 - April 8, 2018
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 15, 2018, at the Monsanto Rec Center, 2500 Wiggens Road, Muscatine. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Anita McKillip.
Jody was born on April 16, 1968, the son of Clarence and Twila Taylor McKillip. He married Anita Reid on August 25, 1994.
Jody loved being with his wife and children. He adored his granddaughter, Laila. Gathering with his brothers and sisters and their families was a sight to behold. They may not have been able to be together a lot but the love was always there. Babies that came into his life through family and friends were sure to get hugs and cuddles from him for he loved the smell of babies and his teddy bear side always came out. He loved his vintage cars especially his ’66 Impala. He loved to tinker and build stuff out of spare parts and random things lying around the yard or garage. He loved enjoying a good bonfire with family and friends anytime of the year.
He will be deeply missed by all with his Jodyisms…from his love of shouting OHIO to his infectious laugh or the ultimate…his Chewbacca purr. And you can’t forget his loving warning “Watch out for the wookalar!”
Survivors include his wife, Anita; two sons, Tyler and Johnathan; daughter, Laura; granddaughter, Laila Reid; siblings, Patrick, Brian (Carol), Eric (Pam), Corey, Stephanie Thompson (Bob) and Heather Laymon (Carl); and 25 nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and both his in-laws.
