The Muscatine County Democrats want to hear what you think about legislative changes and the political climate at the state and federal level. Please join us at one of the four listening posts across Muscatine County. Be ready to listen to your fellow Muscatine County residents and share your stories, opinions, ideas, and vision for a stronger democracy.
Don Paulson, Chairperson of the Muscatine County Democratic Central Committee, said, “This is an opportunity to hear about the hopes and concerns of the people in our community and build a stronger vision of how our community wants the Democratic Party to move forward.”
Jessica Brackett, Vice Chairperson and moderator, said, “We will make every effort to hear from anyone who wants to speak. We hope to give everyone three to five minutes to speak to the group, or folks will be able to write out their comments to be reviewed after the event.”
The listening posts are scheduled for:
- 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 14 at MCC’s McAvoy Center, 1403 Park Ave.
- 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 26 at Wilton Town Hall’s senior citizen meal site, 104 East 4th St.
- 6:00 p.m. Thursday, September 28 at West Liberty Public Library, 400 N. Spencer St.
- 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 3 at Muscatine Transfer Station, 1000 S. Houser St.
The Muscatine County Democrats will also hold an ice cream social and gubernatorial candidate meet and greet on Saturday, September 16 from 2 to 4 p.m. The event will be at the home of Tom and Becky Furlong, 1745 231st Street/G28 in Letts.
