A ceremony will be held at the American Legion Post 27 on Houser Street on Tuesday, November 26 at 7 p.m., to dedicate a Wall of Honor in memory of all Muscatine County men and women who sacrificed their lives during former wars and the Gulf War. A plaque for each war with the engraved name of the soldiers hangs on a wall of honor which was donated by the AMVETS Post 2013. During this ceremony, the AMVETS Post will also be officially named the ‘Larry Brendel AMVETS Post 2013’ in honor of Larry Brendel, the first Muscatine County soldier to die during the Vietnam War. The keynote speaker for this event will be Muscatine Community College Professor and former State Representative Jeff Kaufmann. The public, and especially all family members of those soldiers that died during one of our wars is invited to attend this ceremony.
