There is a regular Muscatine City Council meeting tonight, Thursday Feb 6th,  at City Hall. Reminder Muscatine these regular meetings are always open to the public.

Trinity Muscatine is offering community adult, child and infant CPR and First Aid class on February 22nd.   The class will be held from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. in the Community Education Room at the hospital. 

The cost for CPR and First Aid certification class is $75, if you are only interested in CPR certification class, the price is $35. To register, call (563) 264-9549


The Muscatine Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting for a Muscatine downtown business. Feather Your Nest has opened their new expansion, the ribbon cutting is Tuesday Feb 18th from 4-6pm. 

HNI Corporation is announcing net income increases. Muscatine-based HNI increased net income 29 percent for the fourth quarter and 30 percent for the full year of fiscal 2013. Fourth quarter sales were $541 million with net income of $22 million. Fiscal 2013 sales were $2 billion with net income of $63 million. HNI chairman, president and CEO Stan Askren says the company enters 2014 financially strong, competitively well positioned and focused on delivering profitable growth.

Last year the City of Muscatine did a direct mail campaign concering the new rules for parking during a snow emergency. In addition the rules have been broadcasted dozens of times between the Muscatine radio, the newspaper, and all over Facebook. This year the warnings ended - cars were ticketed and  towed yesterday during this current snow storm we're experiencing. Once again, if the date is an even number, for example today is February 6th, an even number, you must park on the even side of the street. If the date is an odd number, you must park on the odd side of the street.

The Muskie Boys are having there best season since Coach Brandon Welsch took over the program. Tomorrow night the Boys will play at home V Bettendorf, and it's Senior Night. The Girls will continue there outstanding season, and play Bettendorf in an away game.
