The first Muscatine County Legislator's Forum will be held this Saturday, Feb. 1st at the Muscatine Community College's Student Center from 9:00 to 10:30am. This forum is open to the public, and your chance to hear what's going on at the Capitol in Des Moines, and an opportunity to ask questions directly to your State Representatives and State Senator.
These forums are held the first Saturday morning of February, March and April.
Organizers will soon meet to plan Muscatine County’s 2014 American Cancer Society Relay For Life. Relay For Life volunteers and participants will gather at a Community Kick-off at Muscatine Community College to launch their awareness and fundraising efforts for the year. They will meet at 6 p.m. in room 27 of Strahan Hall on Tuesday, February 18th. The Community Kick-off will feature all the information folks will need to get involved and register for this year’s event on Saturday, June 7th, at the Muscatine High School track. There is a Guilty Verdict in a Muscatine Jury Trial - Muscatine County Attorney Alan R. Ostergren announced the verdict: FRANCISCO BRIONES of Muscatine, dealing Cocaine. Briones attempted to sell Cocaine to an undercover informant last April. He will be sentenced this March.
Do you have a used instrument gathering dust? Muscatine School s have organized a program to collect used instruments, and these instruments will be given to students who are interested in music, but cannot afford the price of a new horn, guitar, or drum kit.
