The West Liberty city Council will meet tomorrow night, Tuesday at 7:30pm at 101 W 4th St. As we reported months ago, the West Liberty City Manager was fired, the interim manager is Lawrence McNaul. Tuesday nights meeting will discuss a compensation package for the interim City Manager.

The Muscatine County Board of Supervisors are meeting Monday morning, on the agenda is the discussion of re-establishing a County Historical Preservation Commission.

This commission already exists, but the County Board of Supervisors will discuss realigning the commission, to become apart of the CLG program, or the Certified Local Government Program, which would make the commission eligible for more funding and resources.


If you like cold weather, we have a date for your calendar. The date is Saturday, January 11th. You can join Louisa County Conservation from 10 to 2 for Sub-Zero Survival at Langwood Education Center. The event is for youth in 3rd through 5th grades and has a $10 registration fee. Participants can expect to build survival shelters and explore the forest in winter. Sub-Zero Survival is the first of six events in the new “eXtreme Kids” series being offered by Louisa County Conservation. This year-long series is aimed at getting youth outside with fun and exciting outdoor recreation opportunities.
