A semi-trailer hauling turkeys to West Liberty Foods overturned Monday morning on Highway 70 North of the Highway 22 intersection, according to the Muscatine County Sheriff’s Office. The driver suffered minor injuries and many turkeys died in the crash, which took several hours of clean up. Further details were not released as of press time.
An 18-year old Muscatine man has been arrested on felony drug charges following a 7-month investigation. On March 15, Miguel Aguilar, was picked up for delivery of a controlled substance for allegedly possessing 3.9 grams of marijuana and a scale. Aguilar was also charged at that time for reportedly selling approximately an ounce of marijuana on two occasions in September of 2012 to an undercover informant with the Muscatine County Drug Task Force.
Hunters have a new online tool that could help their aim before the season opens. The Iowa hunting atlas is an interactive map that shows 600,000 acres of public hunting land. The atlas is available online at www.iowadnr.gov/hunting. A click on an area shows zones, open seasons and links to maps.
