The Wilton Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual legislative forum this
Saturday, March 9. It takes place from 9 to 10:30 in the Wilton community Community
Room at 104 E. 4th Street. Expected to participate to discuss legislative issues are
Representatives Bobby Kaufmann and Mark Lofgren and Senator Robert Dvorsky. The
forum is open to the public.




It's all about archiving. The Muscatine Art Center and Musser Public Library are
teaming up tonight to provide a basic overview to caring for collections of historic
documents, photographs and objects. It takes place from 5:30 to?6:30 tonight in the
Music Room at 1314 Mulberry Avenue in Muscatine. Admission is free but donations are
appreciated. Attendees will learn about ways to provide basic collections care on a

A lot of great prom dresses remain for high school girls. So a second Recycle the
Dress event is planned for the Muscatine Recycling Center and Transfer Station. It's
set for 1 to 6 on Thursday, March 14th at 1000 S. Houser Street in Muscatine. And
it's free.




For the eighth straight year, the University of Iowa has been designated a "best
buy" in the Fiske Guide to Colleges. To receive the designation, schools had to have
high academic rankings, an inexpensive or moderate price, and a high quality of
student life on campus. In all, 41 schools received the "best buy" designation,
including 21 private institutions.




They call it the Rollin' Colon. Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids is setting up a
20-foot long, eight-foot high replica of a human colon to call attention to the
importance of colorectal cancer screenings. The display is like a long, pink
tunnel.big enough to walk through and designed to educate people about the risks,
symptoms, prevention, early detection and treatment options for colorectal cancer.
