A Muscatine man is accused of fleeing from police after stealing gas and leading cops on a high-speed chase. The Iowa City Press-Citizen reports Coralville police records indicate 46-year-old Morris A. Nunn pumped almost 11 gallons of gas at a Casey’s on Wednesday, then left without paying. The paper says Nunn faces charges of third-degree theft and eluding, both aggravated misdemeanors.
Trinity Muscatine is accepting vendor registrations for the upcoming community health fair. Businesses, not-for-profit organizations, service clubs and industries interested in being a participant in the health fair should contact Trinity’s Holly Thomas-Koehler. The third annual health fair will be noon to 6 on Tuesday, April 30th at Calvary Church.
Davenport Police reported Friday that they’ve received the preliminary findings of the autopsy for David H. Compton, whose body was found Tuesday in the Mississippi. Police say there were no signs of trauma, and the medical examiner has ruled the cause of death as drowning. Police say they’ve learned Compton had been despondent in recent months.
