Christmas is over, but yesterday was another busy shopping day.
Shopping malls and stand-alone stores were full of shoppers Wednesday. People were taking advantage of sales and markdowns, often using cash or gift cards they’d received.
Others were returning presents they didn’t want, like ugly sweaters or slacks that didn’t fit.
Some analysts claim this holiday shopping season nationwide wasn't as robust as had been anticipated.
Hurricane Sandy, the looming Fiscal Cliff and the extended holiday season this year are listed as contributing factors.
But one retail group is still predicting a 3-percent increase and another predicts 4.1-percent growth.
