The 38th annual Downtown Holiday Stroll is tonight, December 7th  and starts at 5:30pm. Activities will run until 8:30pm. The event is sponsored by The Muscatine Journal and The Downtown Action Alliance.


No Parking on 2nd Street will in effect from 4pm until 10pm today. The Pine Street parking lot will also close at 4pm for the same duration.


Activities will feature area choirs, dancers, window displays, and the Lighted Parade. A Candy Cane Hunt will be at the Riverfront Park by the basketball courts at 7:30pm. Bring a flashlight and if you don't have one, L.E.D. flashlight will be provided free of charge.


Holiday entertainment will fill the streets with sounds of the season and will feature A Teen Dance with the theme “Jingle Jam” and will run the duration of the Christmas stroll. The dance will be DJ’d by local disc jockey Calvin Lloyd and will Feature Zach Benson. Zach was recently on the TV Show “So You Think You Can Dance”.

The weather is promising to behave with temperatures around 40 degrees for the stroll with a small chance of precipitation. Overall, a good time is in store for the entire family.
