The public is invited to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony and celebrate the
completion of the Mad Creek Flood Flood Risk Management Project today,
December 6th at noon.
The ceremony is being held just upstream of the 2nd Street Bridge in the
parking lot of HON Industries in Muscatine.
The approximately $9 million contract was completed in two phases.
The project raised the height of a levee and flood wall and two new closure
structures were built. The project provides an increased level of flood protection
to portions of downtown Muscatine as well as commercial and industrial areas.
