Today is Day 5 for Freezing For Food and time is winding down to drop off your Donation at the
Hawkeye Hauler at Hy-Vee Food Store 2400 2nd Ave, Musactine. Freezing For Food will wrap up on Saturday, December 1st at 11am.
Thursday's donations were doubled - if not tripled - the quantity of donations in days prior in the week. Challenges made by Mayor Dewayne Hopkins - as well as several local businesses - were made and met.
One local business - Hon-Alsteel rallied their workers and presented a check for $10,000 which was personally handed to Captain Rick Ray of the Salvation Army while broadcasting on the air.
There is still plenty of room in the Hawkeye Hauler for donations as well as in the Salvation Army Kettle. Just look for the big Black and Gold Hawkeye trailer parked by Hy-Vee Gas in the parking lot.
Live updates will be broadcast again today on AM 860 KWPC from 8:30am until 12 noon at which time they will resume on MAC 93.1 FM until 5:30pm.
Mayor Dewayne Hopkins - along with your favorite on air radio and staff personalities - will keep you entertained with interesting guests throughout the day.
