The Muscatine Humane Society is hosting a fundraising event called The Howl at the Moon Stroll. This is a family dog walk held at the Environmental Discovery Center at 3300 Cedar Street, Muscatine. This year's walk will be held on September 25th at 6pm. This is a great social night for families and their pets. For more information, please call Muscatine Humane Society at 263-7358. |

The 4th Annual Day of Caring will be Wednesday, September 15th. Last year there were over 600 volunteers participating. This year, we are hoping for approximately 800 volunteers. The projects will vary across the community, but include: helping senior citizens in their homes, painting, siding houses, mowing lawns, trimming bushes, staining, etc. The United Way offers a breakfast kick-off as well as lunch each year for participants. Call your local United Way for more information. |

The DAA is doing a movie on the river Sept. 16th. The movie will be free to the public, and there will be downtown merchants there offering anything from food to merchandise to purchase. The movie information can be found at http://theriverislife.com, and features two gentlemen that travelled down the Mississippi River and taped their excursion. They come to riverfront towns for free to show their adventures. |
