You’re invited to the BIGGEST and BEST Halloween party in Muscatine: the Diamonds On The Avenue & Vintage Sound Horror Ball taking place this Saturday night inside the Missipi Brew! Join yours truly after 9 p.m. and come dressed to impress, because, my friends, you could leave with cold hard CASH! This year we’re looking for the best costume, best group costume, best male, best female, and most ghoulish!
In addition to the cash, we’ll also be giving away a pair of front row tickets to see stand-up comedian Ron White in Cedar Rapids this November! Pretty good deal, right? There is no cover charge and we’ll have several scary drink specials as well.
I love Halloween, and hosting the Horror Ball is such a good time. I don’t often use this column to promote events going on at the radio station, but this time, I have to! I want you to join us and have fun. This party is for folks 21 years and older, however; I should make that clear. And listen, part of me really wants to tell you my costume . . . but I just can’t do it! I’m keeping it under wraps as a surprise until Saturday night.
Last year, I went as a Sharknado, and the year before that I was Kathy Bates’ character, the Bearded Lady, from American Horror Story: Freak Show. The first year we hosted the Horror Ball I went all out as celebrity chef Guy Fieri, including dying my hair multiple times to get it as blonde as possible. You certainly don’t have to do all that, but do grab a costume, or put one together with the help of places like the Salvation Army store on Park Avenue, and make it to the party. Hope to see you this Saturday night, and make sure you holler at me if you make it out after reading this. Happy Halloween from the scariest person on the radio!
